Like a Walk through Europe

Like a Walk through Europe

Fitted mesh is amazing – I can’t get enough of it! For this week’s Steals and Deals from LivGlam, their outfit “I Will be There” comes with the usual standard sizing items (sweater and pants combo) but there is an additional fitted mesh option for those who have a viewer with the feature enabled. Let me tell you – it definitely frees up the ol’ inventory. I wanted to highlight the back of the sweater for this image because the silk ties are an exquisite touch. The front of the sweater is covered in white and gray sequins so it’s gorgeous from any direction. For a pop of color I wore the coral earrings from Pure Poison which are one of the newest group gifts. The detail on them is stellar. They’re a classy match for any outfit and can take something casual to the next level.

The Apple Orchard

The Apple Orchard
Lugoi Devotion just released a tunic (mesh) and trouser set called Filja. When I put it on, the first character that came to mind was an elf. It might be a stereotype, but to me, a young elf would enjoy frolicking in an orchard, so I set the scene in the sim It starts with a smile. LD releases new items every few weeks, so keep an eye out at the store. There is an option for every type of character you might want to be. Also, I think it’s outfits like this which can just be worn for a whimsical everyday look.

Do the (Bunny) Hop

Do the (Bunny) Hop

More signs of spring! HEYDRA released this blue Bunny Sweater as the March group gift available in-store. This image is a view of the back. The front comes down in a v-neck with white detailing to the side. As you can see, it’s incredibly cute. I paired it with the newest subscriber gift from Argrace, which was sent out this past week. If you didn’t receive it due to SL system hiccup (aren’t those wonderful?) then you can get it by visiting the store.

Make sure to check out the sim where this photo was taken: It all starts with a smile! They have a photography contest via flickr running until the 30th.

A Wedding in India

A Wedding in India

Spring is here tomorrow! Thus starts the early wedding season which leads into the peak time of summer. I’m featuring the newest release from Glitterati by Sapphire’s Bollywood fashions line. The outfit is titled Imarigold, the bright colors for which I complemented in the lighting of the photos presented here. The best part of every single Bollywood outfit are the options. There are two skirts – full or slim; shirt option with either gold or pink cuffs, heels (not pictured) with color-change HUD, veil, tiara and two different belts. The biggest draw of this outfit is the vivid colors and patterns that transport the wearer across the globe. As someone who has never visited India (and this is my first time visiting virtual India!), I had a great time photographing the garments and you will have a great time wearing them.

St. Patrick’s Day 2014: Bring on Spring!

St. Patrick's Day 2014: Bring on Spring!

Spring needs to come to my region, pronto! In anticipation for the day finally arriving, I decided to give a spring twist to my St. Patrick’s Day picture. Yesterday Aledia accepted me to blog for Intrepid and I couldn’t wait to show some items. The ones featured here are her items for the Luck of the Irish Gatcha fair which ends today! Hurry! To celebrate I had to show you the green version of her Refined Dress. The Rose Halo and bracelet are also items from the event and come with multiple options, so be sure to try for them all so you have something to match each outfit. If I ever do a fairy photo, I’m wearing the rose halo again!

Have a wonderful St. Patrick’s Day! Don’t do anything I wouldn’t do!

Is This the Fountain of Youth?

Is This the Fountain of Youth?

Weekends are a great time at LivGlam. I’m wearing a version of their “I Call Your Name” outfit, which comes with jeans, tank top and cropped jacket. It’s a great way to mix and match and only costs 60L. One of the wonderful things about LivGlam is their HUD system. It stores every size of the clothing items which you can rezz into your inventory as needed. Once you’re done wearing the outfit, you can delete the separate pieces but by keeping the HUD, you have them forever with no need to take up space! This is one of the greatest inventions ever. I’d probably be close to 100k items without it 😛

She’s a Sassy B…

She's a Sassy B...

Typically I wouldn’t call myself the word on this dress, but you have to admit it’s pretty badass. The dress is just one of multiple color combinations available as a gacha prize from HEYDRA at the Feeb’s Rascals event called Spring Wishes Market. It starts on March 15th, so get your shopping list ready!

Over the Moon

Over the Moon

Hi everyone! Got several great staple casual items to show today. St. Patrick’s day is approaching and HEYDRA has several items available for the Luck of the Irish event which opens on March 17th. The item I’m wearing in particular today are the jeans. The aqua colored pair I’m featuring here is one of the rares. There are a whole rainbow of colors you could possibly attain. The detail on these is excellent and includes both front and back pockets. It’ll make your patoot look pretty darn cute! Alright, sorry to be cheesy. I’m also wearing the Dolche Crop Sweater from Moon Amore which is one of the stores at Nouveaux. It’s also a gacha prize available at their store. There are multiple patterns and you can get a hud with ALL the available designs as a rare. I wanted to pair the jeans with something that would match which is why I opted to show the red flower pattern in the full-length shot, but I also couldn’t resist featuring the grumpy cat pattern. If you haven’t noticed (due to previous posts) I do like grumpy cat.

Black Crowe Hunt – Part 1

Black Crowe Hunt - Part 1

My avatar is a tad gothic for this post in honor of the first day of the Black Crowe hunt. All items worn in this look can be found as part of the hunt, with the exception of the hair. The cute kimono is by Naminoke and comes with multiple layers. I’m wearing all pieces except the flexy which moved as you walk and almost seems animated of its own accord. It even comes with traditional-style footwear that adds a nice touch. I paired the outfit with a necklace from Adoness for the same hunt. The prize actually comes with a hair ornament which isn’t shown. Panda Punx is taking part in the hunt and has a skin and shape available for finding. The skin went perfectly with my shape. The prize also includes appliers for everything imaginable, so this is a great option for everyone. Each item in the hunt can be purchased for 10L, so the total for this look only comes to 30L! When you visit each store you will be searching for a black feather.

A Second Life Gypsy

Gypsy

WAPPEN is a fairly new brand in Second Life, but the creator has produced multiple items which are chic and ultra girly. The newest release is the skirt that I’m wearing in this photo. Don’t ask me why, but it made me think of a gypsy, so I paired it with the cropped shirt (also from WAPPEN) and bold jewelry (necklace is a group gift from Pure Poison). In some ways, this look personifies my Second Life – I wander throughout the grid shopping and finding new landscapes and without a true home. Of course these days, “gypsies” are more settled and are actually called Roma people. But the legacy and stereotype lives on. To some extent, I think many avatars in SL are gypsies.

The gypsy stereotype is also that of a fortune-teller. In reality I am a medium, so if you’re ever looking into personal insights for yourself, come find me 😉

Necklace: Pure Poison (group gift)
Bracelet: Pure Poison (unisex – bought using store credit)
