In the Garden of Memory

Lately I have been recounting many family memories with my friends and loved ones. For me, the garden represents every moment of life; the flowers and blooming trees are positive moments and the weeds are the moments we’d rather not remember. It has been difficult lately thinking about my husband’s grandfather being sick and me being on the other side of the world from them. But, then I am grateful during this time to have wonderful friends who are able to comfort me and make me feel whole. From Europe with Love

Grace, the designer of White Room Couture, was generous enough to ask me to blog Corso, one of her designs being highlighted at Penumbra Fashion Week. It’s my pleasure to post it today. She had the grand opening of her store this passed weekend, so I got to see all her designs up-close and personal. It was a great time and her shop is super chic. Many of her designs are inspired by the patterns of her Dutch heritage. You can see that very evidently in the blue on white of this gown. I decided to add a movie star edge to the look by wearing these great vintage-esque sunglasses from Glamistry and the hair from Spellbound. Virtual Style at Penumbra Fashion Week by Ghee

Here is my second post for the Penumbra Fashion Week. I chose to go with quite a girly look this time. And I stayed away from a lot of black! I hope you will check out this ankle-length dress from Ghee, available in several colors. What I like most is that it comes in two layers; the lace is separate from the silk piece underneath. That makes not only for a great look together, but also the option to mix and match.

Countdown to Penumbra Fashion Week

It’s time to gear-up for the Penumbra Spring/Summer Fashion Week. I’m honored to be blogging for them this year for the first time. While the event does not begin until Saturday, May 16th, I wanted to provide you with a sneak preview. This blog post features Penumbra 02 by SlackGirl. While the dress is certainly the highlight item, if you buy this set it also comes with the earrings and shoes featured here. To add further polish to the look, I have included a clutch (my go-to type of purse) and worn a chic ponytail. This dress makes me feel super feminine and I can’t help but notice that I look extra curvy. That never hurts.
