Daring in Daryl

Daring in Daryl

This past Sunday I walked in the first of two shows for the Autism Speaks Charity Event sponsored by Athena Couture and Lazuri. I had the pleasure of wearing the “Daryl” outfit made by Lyrical B!zarre Templates, a designer whom I love. I found some interesting poses to showcase the outfit on the runway, most of them by Posesion. In addition, I wore earrings and a bracelet from different sets also made by Lyrical B!zarre Templates. Keeping it all in the family, you see. The hair bun is by Rowne.

The event, hosted by Miss Royalty 2015 JewelofDeNiel, will be in full swing until February 20th. To get there, please take this taxi. 100% of proceeds from the event will go Autism Speaks. There are many great designers participating and there will also be music at various times during the event. Our next fashion show is on Sunday the 14th at 11am slt. We look forward to seeing you!

Sunrise Sorbet

Sunrise Sorbet
There is a new designer on the block, none other than the noted blogger and photographer, Xantheanne Resident. This week she opened her store Sorbet, which has a dress and skirt available for sale. Everything sold in the store is and will be 100% original mesh and promises to offer unique creations. When you visit, you will also find the extremely cute dress featured in the photo which is the group gift. The group is currently free to join, but will only stay that way until February 1st.

To add to the adorable and dreamy look, I added the most recent jewelry set from Lyrical B!zarre Templates. This month you will find it at the Full Perm Fair. On first glance, it just looks like lovely hearts, but when you take a closer look at the details, you will see little gears encrusting the pendants.

Dress: Sorbet – Robe Plissee (group gift)
Jewelry: Lyrical B!zarre Templates – Steam Love Set at the Full Permission Fair
Hair: Tableau Vivant from the Editorial set (a past Arcade item)

Jump!

I decided to post a classic mix-and-match look. So much of the time on this blog, I show great items available at the latest events. While that is all well and good, I have read in articles that a variety of fashion is appreciated. Only one of the items in this post is recent. The rest of it is a mix of mesh and prim. That is a point I would like to make. In my opinion, it would be a mistake to completely throw out system clothing, prim items and even sculpt pieces in favor of going completely mesh. I love mesh, but the reason for keeping other pieces? Because mesh has a habit of not layer well on top of other items from the same material. A small example of this is the belt I am wearing in this photo. It is a resizable prim belt, and therefore, I was able to make it large enough to fit over the pants and sit in exactly the right place under the edge of the shirt. My only caveat to this is that I believe the system/prim/sculpt pieces we do keep in our inventories should be of very high quality and impeccable textures. Anything less, go ahead and throw out!

On another note, I consider this outfit to be more adventurous than fits with my normal style. Truthfully, I play it safe more often than not. But this time, the pants inspired me to play around with color. Usually I stick to 3 colors per outfit for the ease of styling and coordination. However, I wanted to step out of the box with these autumn hues and I encourage every stylist and model to do the same. In the end, it’s likely going to look very sophisticated. I have already had many compliments on this ensemble. It has been saved in my inventory as a favorite outfit.

Considering how much I love Lyrical, you know I need to blog it once in a while. As I have told her on occasion, she has created Lyrical B!zarre Templates as a brand that caters to any type of event and style. What I mean is that if I want to attend a ball or garden party or simply go out shopping with my friends, there is something I can wear by Lyrical. She has created all kinds of amazing outfits.

Right now I am loving this prop from Exposeur. I have blogged them before because I think the quality of products is so high. This prop has TONS of pose options and I look forward to using it again.

Lyrical Bizarre

Lyrical Bizarre

FashionART is beginning to wind down, so it’s time to make a last visit to buy exclusive items for the event. Lyrical Bizarre has this incredibly textured gown available. It literally looks like paint across the body. The fact that Lyrical was able to mimic the texture so flawlessly still astounds me. When you visit the store, I would urge you to pick up the group gift. It spoke to me especially given my connection to Romania. I had to snatch it up because I haven’t yet run across any outfits on Second Life that pay homage to the traditional Romanian costume.

Necklace: Candy Crunchers – Meow’s Necklace (found at Cosmopolitan Sale Room)
