The Necromancer
The Necromancer bodysuit from Pixicat is available until the 31st at We ❤ Roleplay. I decided to visit Insilico to give a sci-fi spin to the look with this setting. It’s sad to hear that the sim will be closing down, but I’m glad to have had a chance to spend time there. This bodysuit is made specifically for mesh bodies, so make sure you have Maitreya, Slink or Belleza to really take advantage of the outfit.

Take a Snow Day
Where I’m from, winter has finally found us. The snow is everywhere and it’s pretty icy. But I’m still going to celebrate tonight in small ways. I want to wish you a very happy New Year. May everything you wish for come true in 2016. I hope that you experience much joy and health over the next 365 days. And thank you for stopping by on this holiday to check out my blog post!
Gown: White Room Couture – Ice Queen from The Instruments

P.S. The dark shapes on the gown are just shadows from the trees (in case there was any confusion lol).
The Force is Strong
This current round of the Instruments is yet another amazingly fun affair. The creators pulled out all the stops when it came to designing items to fit with the Star Wars theme. While I am not the biggest sci-fi nerd out there (I use the term with love), there is definitely something that draws a person into the epic universe of that franchise. With that being said, I did my best today to put together a 21st century look with some futuristic flair. This look is definitely accessible for those of you who might want to stay modern while pulling in a space age essence. This kind of look is perfect for the extraterrestrial dance club.
Outfit (top and skirt): FLRN Design – Padme Bustier and Skirt available at The Instruments

Jump!
I decided to post a classic mix-and-match look. So much of the time on this blog, I show great items available at the latest events. While that is all well and good, I have read in articles that a variety of fashion is appreciated. Only one of the items in this post is recent. The rest of it is a mix of mesh and prim. That is a point I would like to make. In my opinion, it would be a mistake to completely throw out system clothing, prim items and even sculpt pieces in favor of going completely mesh. I love mesh, but the reason for keeping other pieces? Because mesh has a habit of not layer well on top of other items from the same material. A small example of this is the belt I am wearing in this photo. It is a resizable prim belt, and therefore, I was able to make it large enough to fit over the pants and sit in exactly the right place under the edge of the shirt. My only caveat to this is that I believe the system/prim/sculpt pieces we do keep in our inventories should be of very high quality and impeccable textures. Anything less, go ahead and throw out!
On another note, I consider this outfit to be more adventurous than fits with my normal style. Truthfully, I play it safe more often than not. But this time, the pants inspired me to play around with color. Usually I stick to 3 colors per outfit for the ease of styling and coordination. However, I wanted to step out of the box with these autumn hues and I encourage every stylist and model to do the same. In the end, it’s likely going to look very sophisticated. I have already had many compliments on this ensemble. It has been saved in my inventory as a favorite outfit.

D’fiori
Well, I have returned from my time away. It was a great vacation touring through four countries. Also, in particular, I love when I spend time in Romania. For today’s post, I am showing you the gorgeous gown from Modern Couture, which is available at the Instruments. Also, I’d like to share with you information about the photography contest to celebrate the one year anniversary of the event. You will have until August 6th to submit your interest. This contest should not be passed by, especially since the grand prize is receiving TWO images from the incredible photographer Skip Staheli. You will need to post the image in the flickr group and join the Instruments customer group. The photo must include a minimum of four items from this anniversary round. Good luck!

Precise
In this entry are two great items that you’ll find at the current round of Chapter 4. In addition, I am wearing a necklace from We ❤ Roleplay. Sometimes it feels right to get in touch with my girly side. That led me to choose pastels and pinks as the focus colors of this image. Also, I chose silver as the accent color. Metallics came into fashion a few years back, and I see that as a continuing trend in Second Life. Some might beg to differ, but I feel that fashion in Second Life goes beyond seasons and trends. Designers certainly follow real life fashion to inspire their creations, but I like to hang on to items and wear them over and over. Or even wear winter-like outfits in summer and jewel tones in the spring, even when they are more fit for fall. That’s the freedom we have as fashionistas in our metaverse.

Welcome to Hellas
When Rose asked me if I would blog one of Athena Courture’s gowns for the Fashion for Change event, I had to say yes. And no, she didn’t even have to twist my arm. It was an easy answer because I love that she has created designs based on a country of her heritage. I have been to Greece once before, and it led me to develop a deep appreciation for the culture and history (AND the food, shhh). Also, all the Greeks I met were kind and welcoming. They really took care of us. We had an amazing time during our trip. In a few months we are going back, this time to northern Greece.
It might seem strange that my avatar appears to be crying in this image. I added the rose petal tears because I miss Greece and cannot wait to get back. Time seems to be crawling. Also, by the way, the Greek word for Greece is Hellas, hence the blog post title.
Only a few more days until Fashion for Change opens! I think you will love this gown when you try it on. The draping is lovely.
